Ok.. so election day is today.. aynway we'll always support PAP.. haha.. cause grandma says we should be grateful.. without them, we'll still be a 3rd world country.. the opposition talks about giving benefits for those retrenced. That would be like one of the prime countries' way of life.. n that had turned out not so well if you remember your history lessons.. Even i a 18 year old understands Lee Kuan Yew's logic why do a 50 year old man and their supporters keep asking for retrenchment benefits? People would just all rather be retrenched and wait fo rthe government to support them. Who would want to go to work?

I think in History lessons, teachers should drill what the government has done for us so far. Compare with the strong and weak countries. How did we emerge from a 3rd world struggling orphan to a 1st class state in a matter of 30 years. I'm glad i took up Pure History in secondary school. We studied Singapore and Malaya's History and understood the reasons and ways of the policies that thus brought about such a high standard of life for us now. Sure.. Everything is expensive now. But would you rather struggle for basic food and clean water and proper medical facilities like in Africa and Kenya??? We shouldn't keep complaining all is expensive and government should help and help and help. Yes, we do lament at times, but... Haiz..

MM Lee Kuan Yew's Memoirs is a great read too.. Actually, secondary schools should make it part of National Education to read about his memoirs and write a piece of 300 word commentary to allow our younger generation to understand the government's painstaking decisions and reasons behind their actions.. Not wait until our great leaders has passed on to feel the need to write days of articles about them..
