Went to chinatown with adeline n yumei yesterday... wanted to buy beads n crystals n stuff to make our own accesories... Those nice handphone chains n necklces n stuff.. Been wanting to do that for a long time,... only that i'm lazy... den last week went to bugis that time saw those accessories being sold n adeline said she cud teach us so here we are buying our own stuff n settling down to wrk... Haha...
There were 3 shops selling beads, crystals, tools n stuff in Zhen Zhu Fang Complex... I dun really remember the building's name... We took the lift to the 3rd floor.. I got a shock when we entered the lift... 4 there was a security guard or sorts sitting there in the lift n gelping people press the lift... I din noe there was still a practice like this now.... So very amazed... Yu mei got a shock too... Haha... I spent almost alll of my $50 i had bought out that day n still i was lacking in some stuff... I din had the basic tool.. Pliers... N yumei n i only bought the middle sized crystals... No big or small ones... So very limited to wat we cud do at the moment..
Den it was about 2pm when we left for my place... We crossed the road to take the bus only to find out that we din really need to make that move for we should have taken the bus at the side of the mall that side... So in the end we decided to take a cab.. Den at my home, we unpacked what we bought n sorted out the money issues... Adeline showed us a simple chain... Den we started work... But i was slow n taking out all sorts of things to show them n in the end it was ages before i finally finished my first piece...
Haha.. But it was nice... Of blue n white crystals n a blue crystal heart.... Wow!! Haha.. So hao lian rite?? As yumei n i had little to start with n cun really make much, coupled with fact that teh 3 of us were sharing 1 pair of scissors n pliers, i stopped at 1 while yumei continued a second... Adeline was making a elegant, beautiful necklace from pink n white crystals.. It cud easily fetch $30 outside wen the cost price was less than $10.. Lucrative business isn't it?
AFter that we packed up n settled for a chat... I understood why frens often like to hang out at one's place for we were not in the public eye n needn't be restrained of ourselves... We cud just be ourselves... They left at ard 5pm... N after that dad came back n drove us back to Joo Chiat for dinner... Mum said when we were outside the house, my dad had shuddered wen we were having a great laugh over my joke that my place's like a condo coz the lift opens directly at my doorsttep... He had tog there were at least 5 of us since the laughter's so loud n was amazed tfind that i brough only 2 frens... Haha....
At Joo Chiat, my aunt found a grasshopper the size of an index finger!!! What a sight... Had a chat with my eldest cousin, a air stewardess in training, about my future n her work... She told me about a colleague who makes silly jokes during their training...
If one's eager to tour the world, she or he cud take up the job of a air swardess or steward while they are stll young n blessed with good looks.. But always be mindful to back oneself up with a qualification of some sorts in the event that u are no longer young n pretty, u'll b jobless...
So being versatile nowadays is a virtue... For u can always work urself up from anywhere... Being specialised mite be awesome, but it's becum impractical.. So always tink twice for a career now...
